The ancients believed that this flower possesses magical properties, and assumed that the soul of the deceased entered it in order to communicate with relatives and friends in this form and convey the last greetings to them.
In the language of flowers, immortelle means “live forever, forever yours.”

In large numbers, the immortelle is usually found only in young pine forests, in felling areas, along roadsides in pine forests, most often on sands.
For medicinal purposes, immortelle inflorescences are used, which are collected during the flowering period. It falls in July – August. The side baskets should not open yet.
Baskets with peduncles up to 1 cm long are torn off by hand, cut with secateurs or scissors, making sure that the plants are not pulled out.
Do not collect everything, otherwise you will not find the immortelle next year.
The immortelle is dried as usual: in the shade, where the sun does not get, under a canopy in a warm, dry place.
10-15 g of immortelle flowers are poured with 200 ml of cold boiled water, insisted for 8 hours, then filtered. Take 1/2 cup 4 times a day 20 minutes before meals.
10 g of flowers per 100 ml of 20% alcohol, leave for 5-7 days. Drink 15-20 drops, diluted in 30-50 ml of boiled water, 3-5 times a day, 30-40 minutes before meals. Take within 3-4 weeks. Outwardly, the tincture is used for skin diseases.
A decoction of sandy immortelle flowers: 10 g (3 tablespoons) of raw materials are placed in an enamel bowl, 200 ml of hot boiled water are poured, covered with a lid and heated in a water bath with frequent stirring for 30 minutes, cooled for 10 minutes at room temperature, filtered, the remaining raw materials are wrung out.
The volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water. The prepared broth is stored in a cool place for no more than 2 days. Take 1/2 cup warm 2-3 times a day 15 minutes before meals as a choleretic agent, with itchy dermatoses and as an anthelmintic.
Choleretic collection (option 1): sandy immortelle, flowers – 4 parts; water shamrock, leaves – 3 parts; peppermint, leaves – 2 parts; coriander, fruit – 2 parts. One tablespoon of the collection is brewed with 400 ml of boiling water, infused for 20 minutes, then filtered. Take 1/2 cup 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals.
Choleretic collection (option 2): sandy immortelle, flowers – 4 parts; yarrow, grass or leaves – 2 parts; peppermint, leaves – 2 parts; coriander, fruit – 2 parts. One tablespoon of the collection is brewed with 400 ml of boiling water, infused for 20 minutes, then filtered. Take 1/2 cup 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals.
Please note (!):
Sandy immortelle is choleretic and therefore requires attention. Contraindicated in gallstones, as it can activate their movement. And in general, people with diseases of the gallbladder and ducts need caution when using it. It is ideal to first make an appointment with your doctor and repeat the study.
