Everyone around is so active and efficient that it makes you sick sometimes. I remind you that working under stress is not productivity, but self-violence. Productivity is built from something else.

There are answers to “where to find motivation” and “how to increase productivity”. If you are ready to treat yourself like a person, not like a machine.

What is important to know about motivation:

• Motivation and productivity are directly related
• Both of them are tied to the work of the brain. Specifically the neurotransmitter dopamine.

If there is no motivation and productivity, and you have already gone to a psychologist to let off steam and it still does not help, then there is a chance that your brain does not give you dopamine.

It means that:

  • you have not removed or compensated for stress
  • are you bored
  • the goal does not really make sense to you
  • dopamine was too much before

What to do:

  • a psychologist is the best investment now
  • change business
  • find meaning in the case or in the process or in something else
  • clear the dopamine reward system

  1. Check how much you worked the day before. If there is a lot and if there is an opportunity: leave yourself alone and rest. By turning off the phone, removing books and any sources of TV shows, TikTok and entertainment. Immerse your mind in boredom. To get tired of lying on the couch.
  1. Check your sleep and eating and drinking patterns. Without them, the brain does not work well.

  2. Look at your plate. Are there enough carbs? Not? Get off the low carb, feed your brain.

  3. Is everything okay? So, we went too far with dopamine and we need to retrain the brain a little.

Watch your hands: dopamine the brain sleeps when you eat, communicate, make love. Everything is based on evolution.

And also when you play, buy something online, scroll through social networks or watch TV shows.

Evolution did not literally prepare us for this.

In 2018, psychologists started talking about dopamine satiety: we get so much of it that sensitivity decreases (although not a fact).

Psychologist Cameron Sepah came up with the dopamine fasting technique. The very austerity of the XXI century, which will return motivation and productivity.

The brain should be busy with something, but the work should not have some purpose.
